My approach

Your therapy, your pace, your journey.

My therapy, shaped around you.

Finding your own way forward

Everyone comes to counselling with their own experiences, relationships, values, strengths and challenges. What feels helpful to one person may not feel right for another.

My approach is rooted in Person-Centred Therapy, with a strong emphasis on the therapeutic relationship and informed by relational and existential perspectives. I believe that you are the best person to understand your own experience, and that therapy can offer a safe, accepting space in which you can explore what feels important to you.

I see you as a whole person. Your thoughts, feelings, relationships, experiences and the way you make sense of your life are all connected. Together, we can explore what is happening for you, consider what may be shaping your experience, and make space for questions about meaning, choice, identity and direction.

There is no expectation for who you should become. My role is not to tell you what to do, but to walk alongside you as you explore your experience and find a way forward that feels authentic to you.

What our work might involve

Every therapeutic relationship is different. Depending on what brings you to counselling, our work may involve exploring your relationships, understanding yourself more deeply, making sense of difficult experiences, or considering what you want for the future.

The relationship matters

I believe the relationship we build in therapy is at the heart of the work. Feeling heard, understood and accepted can create the safety needed to explore parts of yourself that may have felt difficult to share elsewhere.

I aim to offer a relationship that is genuine, respectful and non-judgemental. You don’t need to have the right words or present yourself in a particular way. You can simply come as you are.

Your pace matters

Everyone comes to therapy differently. You don’t need to have everything worked out or be ready to talk about everything straight away.

We can take time to understand what feels important to you and work at a pace that feels manageable. Some sessions may involve exploring something difficult, while others may simply give you space to pause, reflect and make sense of what is happening in your life.

My role is to walk alongside you as you discover what feels right for you.

Understanding yourself

Our experiences can shape the way we think, feel and respond to the world around us. Together, we can explore patterns, feelings and experiences that may be difficult to understand on your own.

Therapy can offer space to slow down, reflect and develop a deeper understanding of yourself.

Meaning, choice & direction

Sometimes we reach a point where we begin to question what matters to us, the choices we are making or where we want our lives to go.

Therapy can offer space to explore these questions, consider what feels meaningful to you and find a way forward that feels authentic.

What you can expect from me

I will offer you a space where you can be yourself without needing to have everything figured out. I will listen with openness and curiosity, without judgement or assumptions about what you should do.

I won’t tell you what decisions to make or give you a set of answers. Instead, I will work alongside you to explore what you are experiencing and what feels important to you.

Sometimes therapy may involve sitting with something difficult. At other times, it may be about noticing patterns, finding new perspectives or making sense of experiences that have felt confusing or overwhelming.

My aim is to offer a relationship where you feel heard, respected and safe enough to explore whatever feels important to you.

You don’t need to be a particular way in therapy

You can arrive exactly as you are. You don’t need to know what you want to talk about, have the right words, or understand why you feel the way you do. We can start wherever you are and take things at a pace that feels right for you. Therapy offers time to pause, be heard and reconnect with what matters to you.

Finding a way forward

Therapy isn’t about becoming a different person. It can be about understanding yourself more deeply, reconnecting with what matters to you and making choices that feel more your own.
